Week One Assignment

Create a dream board filled with pictures of a healthier, slimmer you.  A dream board will help you to visual yourself healthier and is just one more tool that will help you develop the mindset that it takes to eat healthy forever.  A dream board can be any size or shape.  I personally like using the tri-fold board that students use for science fair projects.  This type of board can stand on its own anywhere and it gives lots of space to blow up pictures and write big letters on it.

Put your name on the top of board with big, bold colorful letters.  Under your name write something great about yourself like “I am beautiful, I am amazing, I am powerful,” etc. Also write on the board at the top your ideal dress/jacket/pants size.   At the bottom of the board, write the date by which that you have decided you will achieve this goal. 

Fill the board with pictures of you when you were slimmer.  Add some of the nice outfits that you see on-line or in magazines that you would like to wear when you are slimmer.  If you have an outfit (or two or three)  that you just cannot give away because you have always believed that you would fit back into it, take a picture of that outfit(s) and put it on the board.  Put this board in a place where you can see it every day.  The more you see it, the better.   

In addition to completing your dream board, reading your scripture, and saying the prayer aloud every day, practice your affirmations (created in chapter two) a minimum of twice a day.  Add new ones if you can.

Dear God:

I thank you for new beginnings!  Through the power of the Holy Spirit, I celebrate that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  I praise You that you have given me power over my thoughts.  Today I choose to think joyous thoughts of how much You love me, how much You care for me, and how much You desire that I live an abundant life.  I am excited that part of that abundant life is honoring my temple through wise choices in food and drink.  I am so grateful that You are with me every step of the way as I embrace healthier eating habits that will result in me being slim for life.  I am changing to Your glory!
